3D Embroidery Adds Dimension to Your Design
Custom embroidery has two techniques that will add dimension to your design. These two techniques have similar effects, but use different methods to achieve their 3D effects. Broken Arrow now offers layered 3D embroidery and puff 3D embroidery to our customers who are looking to add dimension to their custom embroidery designs.
Custom Layered 3D Embroidery
Custom layered 3D embroidery doubles the stitch count on a design. This will make the design thicker, and raise the design up and away from the garments surface. This layered 3D effect allows you to have greater detail than puff embroidery. Very detailed designs work best with Broken Arrow's standard embroidery stitching.
This technique works best on thinner materials that will be washed regularly like oxfords, polos, and sweatshirts.
Custom Puff 3D Embroidery
Custom puff 3D embroidery uses foam to achieve an extreme 3D effect. The foam comes in different widths and colors to accommodate an wide array of products and threads. The puff technique also requires the stitch count to double to completely cover the underlying foam layer.
Puff 3D embroidery works best with block or large round shaped letters. Artwork for puff embroidery should have rounded corners so that the needle is able to cover the foam completely.
Thick materials generally work best with this application like bags, hats and thick jackets.
